LG X3 tipped to become the Optimus 4X HD once official, T-Mobile G4X name also surfaces

We've seen LG unveil a number of new smartphones over the past few days, including the Optimus Vu and Optimus 3D Max. One device that we've yet to get official word on is the LG X3, but today the folks at Pocketnow claim to know what the X3 will be known as once LG does decide to announce it. The site says that the X3 will become the "LG Optimus 4X HD" when it finally makes its retail debut. Pocketnow also mentions that it's seen mentions of a "T-Mobile G4X," meaning that the Optimus 4X HD could eventually make its way to Magenta as a successor to the G2x.
As a quick spec refresher, the LG X3 is rumored to be feature a 4.7-inch 1280x720 display, quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 16GB internal storage, 2,000mAh battery and Android 4.0.3. We'll have to wait until LG gets around to introducing the X3 to see if it does indeed become the Optimus 4X HD, but the name would make sense when you remember that the Optimus 2X packed a dual-core processor under its hood. Considering how many new handsets that LG has introduced recently, I wouldn't be surprised to see the X3/Optimus 4X HD made official sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!
