New alleged iPad 3 parts photos show casing comparison with iPad 2, front glass

Apple iPad 3 casing iPad 2

The steady stream of iPad 3 leaks continue! Recently some more shots of parts allegedly belonging to Apple's new tablet have surfaced, offering another look at its rear casing and the front glass that'll be used on the device's face. First up, the folks at M.I.C. Gadget have gotten hold of what could be the new iPad's backside, stacking it up with an iPad 2 and comparing the two.

The edges of the iPad 3's rear appear to have a taper that's more gradual than what's found on the iPad 2, and the new model is also said to be 1-1.5mm thicker than the existing iPad. Another change found on the rear of the next iPad is the camera lens hole, which is a tad larger than the one found on the iPad 2. However, it's not clear whether or not it'll house an 8-megapixel shooter like a previous rumor has claimed.

Next is a photo of a what is purportedly the front glass and digitizer belonging to the iPad 3. Originating on microblogging site Sina Weibo, the image shows a piece of glass that looks similar to what's found on the iPad 2 and includes cutouts for a home button, front-facing camera and light sensor. The source of the photo claims in a separate post that the A5X chip that'll allegedly be included in the iPad 3 will be of the dual-core variety and that Siri will be included on the device.

At this point it seems that we've gotten an early peek at just about every major part that could be present on the iPad 3 when it launches. When exactly that'll happen is still a mystery, but the current expectation is that Apple will take the wraps off of its new iPad at an event on March 7th, and an actual release could follow in week or so after. So now that we're beginning to get a better idea of what the iPad 3 will be all about and we're inching closer to its debut early next month, who's thinking about picking one up when they go on sale?
