Get ready to root your Pre
... That is, if you can afford it. Maybe I shouldn't have tagged this post, "Palm Pre Launch Coverage," but it's not too far removed. On June 9th, PreCentral.net announced that the webOS Reset Doctor was leaked - including root image. So, what does that mean? It means that before long, hackers will be providing access to otherwise hidden gems - at least to those willing to risk their handset for some inside knowledge. That PC post points out some humorous code comments and secret icons as well. Check out Engadget's follow-up, where the first fruits of root labor are popping up: including a timed image-snapping app. I just found a sudden increased interest in the Pre, and I already thought the platform was fascinating. It's going to be a great Summer for phone news.
